Can mimic your voice when delivering. Might improvise the message a little.
- Population
- Global population size not numerically quantified by IUCN/BirdLife; described qualitatively as very large and increasing (BirdLife DataZone factsheet renders as a dynamic/JS page that could not be scraped this session; IUCN Red List species page returned 403/404). - Native to southern and central Asia (Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Central Asian republics, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indochina, southern China, and Japan); widely introduced and established in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Madagascar and other Indian Ocean islands, Fiji and other Pacific islands, Hawaii and South Florida (USA), parts of Canada, parts of Europe, the Middle East, and elsewhere
- Diet
- Omnivorous — insects, grubs, earthworms, spiders, crustaceans, small reptiles and mammals (including mice), eggs and nestlings of other birds, fruit, seeds, grain, flower nectar and petals, and discarded human food/garbage; forages mostly on the ground
